Mountain getaway situated area landmarks include Schoepf Divide, Warren Peak, Bear Den
Canyon, Jim Wayne Canyon and Reuter Campground. At an elevation
in the range of 5,300 feet, the property has both summer and
winter recreation. This secluded property is close to several
trails that lead into the Black Hills National Forest. Explore
the many routes through the National Forest for site seeing,
snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ATVs, horseback riding,
nature walks, mountain biking. Area wildlife includes elk, deer,
turkey, mountain lion, bobcat, coyote, fox, eagles and hawks.
This retreat is northwest of Sundance about 12 miles in a
private setting along Bear
on the west side of the Bear Lodge Mountains close to
National Forest access points. 40 acres in a remote
setting in the back country northwest of Sundance,
Wyoming in the area between Devils Tower and a wide
expanse of Black Hills National Forest lands that runs
through the Bear Lodge.
This mountain scene
features wooded hills, rolling meadows and an undeveloped
spring. An open meadow edged with trees runs through the
southwest side of the land with the remainder of the property
being heavily timbered. The forested hills include ponderosa
pine, aspen, bur oak and wild plum thickets. With the land
having been in the same family for many years, the mature stand
of pine timber hasn’t been harvested in about 70 years. There
are several wonderful cabin sites throughout the property.
The property lies near the North Fork of Miller Creek; other
Lodge Ranch Road, which goes through
the southwest corner of the property. Most of the county road in
this area has a dirt surface with limited maintenance, which
provides seasonal access. There is a telephone line through the
property.
The remoteness that this Wyoming Black Hills
land offers makes it an excellent place for a hunting cabin,
recreational getaway or summer retreat.
